A Subject Access Request (SAR) is a request for a copy of the personal information that your GP surgery holds about you, including your medical records. You have the legal right to access this information under data protection law.
You do not need to explain why you want your information. In most cases, there is no charge for making a Subject Access Request, and your GP surgery will respond within one month, unless an extension is permitted under the law.
